We Asked Marie a Few Questions Regarding Completing Her Functional Skills With Us:

“Once I received the results of my mock exams, it improved my confidence for the rest of the course. The feedback I was given on my speaking and listening assessment also played a part in improving my confidence, especially when taking part in group tasks throughout the course.”

How do you feel the skills you’ve gained in this course will help you in your future career or personal goals?

“I believe the qualification I’ve earned will be beneficial in my daily role, especially when attending certain meetings. I’m confident it will help me trust my abilities more and take part in situations I might have avoided before due to a lack of confidence.”

What has been the most challenging part of studying for your Functional Skills English Level 2 qualification, and how have you overcome it?

“Balancing my busy work schedule with the course was definitely a challenge, especially making sure the homework was completed on time and met the standard I was happy with.”

Has there been a specific technique or approach that’s helped you stay motivated and focused throughout the course?

“Having previously not received the grades I wanted was the motivation I needed to keep going and stay focused.”

How do you manage to balance your study with other commitments, and what tips would you give to others juggling multiple responsibilities?

“There were times when I joined the course whilst on holiday, so I would say it can be hard, but keep your sights focused on why you signed up for the course in the first place.”

“I’ve noticed that Marie has gained a lot of confidence when speaking with service users and responding to queries. I’m really proud of everything she’s accomplished, and I know this has had a significant impact both professionally and personally.

Marie has always been a highly motivated team member, though she’s previously struggled with confidence in her abilities. I believe that earning this qualification has shown her what we’ve always known, and I’m hopeful she’ll continue to build on that newfound confidence.

There were a few weeks when it was challenging to release Marie for her training or allocate protected time for her to complete her homework, but I’m happy that as a team, we were able to provide the support she needed.

I can see that the course was well run and there was plenty of support in place for learners to achieve their goal. I would definitely support other staff in taking up training with PTS.”
