Positive news.
Coming soon, a national park at the end of the world.
One of the world’s wildest places looks set to stay that way, as the Chilean government moves forward with plans to create the Cape Froward National Park. The proposed park will span around 150,000 hectares of subantarctic forests, peatlands, and coastline at the southern tip of the Americas. Once a whaling base, the area is now home to endangered wildlife including pumas, huemul deer, and whales, protecting nature at its most dramatic.
January can feel long and dark, especially with the lack of daylight which can affect mood and motivation. To stay energised, try getting outside during daylight hours, even for a short walk, keeping a simple routine, setting small achievable goals, and staying connected with others.
