The Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety is designed to equip learners with essential knowledge and skills to ensure the safety and security of spectators at events. This qualification confirms occupational competence and is widely recognised by leading sports and events organisations.

Course Overview

  • Preparing for Spectator Events
    • Learn how to effectively prepare for events to ensure spectator safety.
    • Understand the necessary pre-event checks and risk assessments.
  • Assisting with the Movement of Spectators
    • Gain skills to manage and direct the movement of spectators efficiently.
    • Learn strategies to ensure smooth and safe crowd flow.
  • Dealing with Crowd Issues at Events
    • Understand how to identify and address potential crowd issues.
    • Learn techniques for maintaining order and safety in crowded environments.
  • Managing and Resolving Conflicts
    • Develop conflict management skills to handle disputes and altercations.
    • Learn de-escalation techniques to prevent conflicts from escalating.
  • Dealing with Incidents at Spectator Events
    • Gain knowledge on how to respond to various incidents that may occur during events.
    • Learn the protocols for incident reporting and management.
  • Supporting the Work of the Team and Organisation
    • Understand the importance of teamwork in ensuring event safety.
    • Learn how to support and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Physical Intervention (Optional Unit)
    • Understand the application of physical intervention skills within the private security industry.
    • This optional unit provides additional training for those required to undertake physical interventions.

Eligibility Criteria

This is a guide to the eligibility criteria if you are not sure about anything please get in touch with us.

  • If employed, you may still be eligible for funding if you earn less than £20,319 per year outside of London or less than £11.95 per hour in London. Proof of wage will be required prior to enrolment.
  • Learners must be aged 19+.
  • Learners must be a resident of UK or the EEA (European Economic Area) and have been for at least 3 years.
  • Learners can be unemployed to undertake a distance learning course.
  • There are no entry requirements to undertake a distance learning course, however a good level of English is required.
