The Level 3 Paediatric Emergency First Aid qualification forms part of the QA First Aid suite of qualifications. This qualification is for people who are required to provide emergency first aid to child or infant. Learners should be able to demonstrate safe, prompt and effect first aid in an emergency. They should be confident in their ability and understand their role as a first aider.
The objective of the qualification is to help learners gain to correct knowledge and practical understand to deal with a range of emergency’s when looking after a child/infant. Learners should feel confident in providing effective emergency first aid under pressure. Anyone who cares for a child/infant should undergo this qualification. This could include anyone from the child’s guardian to anyone who has a professional background with children/infants.
Learners will be assessed by a Tutor. This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. The Learner needs to retake the qualification before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
The Level 3 Award in Paediatric Emergency First Aid may be used towards other qualifications at the same and higher level, plus aid career progression in a relevant profession.
