As an Assistant Accountant, learners will provide support to internal and external customers. Learners will be involved in the day-to- day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements. Learners may find themselves involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax computations. This apprenticeship is suited to individuals working either as an assistant accountant within a practice, or within the finance function of an organisation.
Learners will develop a variety of skills throughout their apprenticeship, including understanding company strategies, using accounting software, entering accounting transactions and being able to correct errors, produce reports, drafting final accounts, problem solving and understanding basic tax principles.
Learners without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this prior to taking their End Point Assessment.
End Point Assessment
The Level 3 Accounts Assistant apprenticeship consists of two discrete assessment methods:
- Unit tests
- Synoptic testing
The performance of the learners End Point Assessment will determine their overall apprenticeship standard and grade.
