Level 2 Adult Care Certificate
The qualification recognises the professionalism and dedication of the care workforce, whilst giving employers confidence that their staff are trained and qualified to an appropriate minimum standard.
The course is delivered online over 26 weeks, with learners attending a 3-hour live workshop each week. Morning, afternoon and evening sessions are available to help accommodate shift patterns and caring responsibilities.
Who Is This Course For?
This qualification is suitable for adults aged 19+ who are currently working in, or are about to start working in, an adult care setting. Learners should have literacy and communication skills of at least Level 1 and must be confident using IT, including Microsoft Teams and a desktop or laptop computer. Employer support is also required so learners can attend their weekly online workshops.
Course Delivery
Learners will complete weekly online workshops alongside assignments and workplace learning.
The programme includes:
- 3-hour live online workshops each week for 26 weeks.
- A choice of sessions, including evening options.
- Two work-based assessments.
- A minimum of 40 hours of work-based practice.
- Online portfolio work completed through OneFile.
A flexible roll-on, roll-off programme, allowing learners to start throughout the year.
Learner Expectations
Learners are expected to commit to completing the programme within 26 weeks and attend all scheduled workshops. They must also complete assignments, gather evidence for their online portfolio and submit work by the deadlines agreed with their tutor.
During the programme, learners will need to demonstrate at least 40 hours of work within a care setting and will be observed in the workplace at least twice.
Course Cost
This qualification is now available for funding under the Learning and Development Support Scheme, and eligible Employers can claim funding for eligible care staff up to £1,500.
