Course Overview
We are thrilled to offer an Excel training course with funding from Surrey County Council, Hampshire County Council, Slough Borough Council, and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. This initiative aims to provide Excel proficiency to residents and employees within these regions.
Why Take a “Getting to Grips with Excel” Course?
The “Getting to Grips with Excel” course is designed to equip you with essential knowledge of Microsoft Excel, ranging from basic to more advanced skills. This training will help enhance your productivity and data analysis capabilities, making Excel an efficient tool for your everyday tasks.
The Programme
Participants can choose from a variety of dates and times to fit their schedules. The course features a 3-hour live workshop conducted by a qualified and experienced Excel tutor via Teams. You will receive an online invite to join the session.
Additionally, you will be provided with resources and guidance to further online materials that can assist you in utilizing Excel more effectively in your daily work.
Programme Content
The “Getting to Grips with Excel – An Introduction” course will cover the following topics:
- Spreadsheet Basics
- Inputting Data
- Performing Simple Calculations
- Introduction to Formatting
- Using Basic Formulas and Functions
- Freezing and Unfreezing Panes
- Adding Comments
Progression onto Our FREE Intermediate and Advanced Excel Programme
Upon completing the introductory course, you will have the opportunity to advance to our Intermediate and Advanced Excel courses, subject to funding. Each of these programs consists of two 3.5-hour sessions (totaling 7 hours each). Committing to both sessions is expected.
These advanced courses are designed to provide you with the skills needed for career progression and can enhance your earning potential. Eligibility criteria apply.
Your Commitment
We expect participants to:
- Attend with cameras on and engage fully, free from distractions.
- Have the necessary equipment: a laptop/desktop with internet access and Excel installed (mobile phone attendance is not acceptable).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the course, you must:
- Be aged 19 or over.
- Be either unemployed or employed.
- Live or work in Hampshire, Surrey, Slough, Windsor, or Maidenhead. Priority will be given to NHS employees.
- Have current residency status/right to remain in the UK and can provide evidence of residency for the past three years.
