The Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner enables learners to work with children from birth to 5 years and cover areas on promoting health and wellbeing, special educational needs, working with families implementing change and enabling children to learn. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 18 and over, who are currently employed as an early years Level 3 practitioner. This qualification is suited to learners looking to develop leadership and specialist skills within their role.
You will be assessed through a work-based portfolio of evidence, allowing you to demonstrate both your theoretical knowledge and how you apply your learning within your Early Years role. Your portfolio will be internally assessed and will reflect your skills, knowledge and professional practice within the workplace.
Upon successful completion, you will achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner.
Submit your enquiry form and a member of our team will give you a call to talk you through the course and answer any questions you may have. You will then be sent a Course Registration Form to complete.
Our Enrolment Team will process your application and ask you to complete an application form. Once enrolled, you will be assigned a tutor who will support you throughout your course and can be contacted by phone, text or email.
As you work through your course, you will receive email reminders when your units are due. Your tutor will mark your work and return it to you within 7 days, providing support and feedback throughout your learning.
You will also complete the required practical assessment within your workplace to demonstrate your skills in adult social care.
Once you have successfully completed your course and all required assessments, we will apply for your certificate. Your certificate will then be posted directly to your home address, usually within 2–4 weeks.

The Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner is a nationally recognised qualification covering child development, inclusive practice, safeguarding, leadership, reflective practice and partnership working. It develops the advanced knowledge and professional skills experienced practitioners need to support high quality Early Years provision and improve outcomes for children and families.
This course is fully free for eligible adults aged 19 and over who live in London, funded by the Greater London Authority through the Adult Skills Fund. Eligibility requirements apply and may include your residency, employment status, income and commitment to progressing into higher skilled or better paid employment.
The course is suitable for experienced Early Years professionals working in nurseries, preschools and other childcare settings who want to develop their practice. It is particularly relevant for Early Years Practitioners, Senior Practitioners and Room Leaders looking to progress into advanced, specialist, leadership or management roles.
Most learners complete the qualification within 12 to 18 months through a flexible blended learning programme supported by a dedicated tutor. Assessment includes assignments, reflective practice, workplace evidence and professional discussions, allowing learners to demonstrate their knowledge and advanced Early Years practice throughout the course.
The qualification can support progression into roles including Senior Practitioner, Room Leader, Deputy Manager and Early Years Lead within childcare and education settings. It also provides a progression route towards the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship and can support further development towards Early Years Teacher Status.
