The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification forms part of the QA First Aid suite of qualifications. It should enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider.
The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations and/or take on the role of emergency first aider in the workplace. This qualification should prepare the Learner to develop the skills and knowledge needed to administer emergency first aid.
This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid to people in a range of emergency first aid situations.
You will be assessed through written work completed within your online units, with support and guidance from your tutor throughout the course. This will allow you to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of paediatric first aid in a flexible online learning environment.
Upon successful completion, you will achieve the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work.
Week 1 – Submit Your Enquiry
Submit your enquiry form and a member of our team will give you a call to talk you through the course and answer any questions you may have. You will then be sent a Course Registration Form to complete.
Week 2 – Application and Tutor Support
Our Enrolment Team will process your application and ask you to complete an application form. Once enrolled, you will be assigned a tutor who will support you throughout your course and can be contacted by phone, text or email.
Weeks 3–16 – Complete Your Course
As you work through your course, you will receive email reminders when your units are due. Your tutor will mark your work and return it to you within 7 days, providing support and feedback throughout your learning.
You will also complete the required practical assessment within your workplace to demonstrate your skills in adult social care.
Completion – Receive Your Certificate
Once you have successfully completed your course and all required assessments, we will apply for your certificate. Your certificate will then be posted directly to your home address, usually within 2–4 weeks.

If employed, learners must meet the relevant earnings threshold for their area and course level:
•Learners can be unemployed to complete our short courses, however Level 2 Mental Health in Early Years and Level 2 Adverse Childhood Experiences must be done in the workplace. Eligibility is subject to individual circumstances and will be confirmed as part of the enrolment process.
The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work may be used towards other qualifications at the same and higher level, plus aid career progression in a relevant profession.
