Course Overview

This Level 2 Certificate in Customer Service for Health and Social Care Settings is designed to help you develop the knowledge and understanding needed to provide effective customer service within health and social care environments.

The course explores how positive customer service contributes to the experiences of people accessing health and social care services. You will develop your understanding of effective communication, individual customer needs and the importance of working effectively as part of a team.

This qualification is particularly suitable for those looking to develop their knowledge of customer service within health and social care, community or support-based settings.

What Will I Learn?

Throughout the course, you will develop your knowledge and understanding across four key areas:

  • Customer service in health and social care: Understand the principles of effective customer service and the importance of delivering a positive experience within health and social care settings.
  • Effective communication: Explore different methods of communication and how to communicate appropriately and effectively with customers in health and social care environments.
  • Understanding customer needs: Develop your awareness of the different needs of people accessing health and social care services and how these needs can be recognised and supported.
  • Teamwork in health and social care: Understand the importance of effective teamwork and how working collaboratively can contribute to high-quality customer service.

Eligibility Criteria

This is a guide to the eligibility criteria for our funded courses. If you are unsure whether you are eligible, please get in touch with our team and we will be happy to help.

  • Learners must be aged 19 or over.
  • Learners must live in West Sussex.
  • If employed or self-employed, learners must earn £26,800 per year or less. Proof of earnings will be required prior to enrolment.
  • Learners who are unemployed may also be eligible for full funding.
  • Learners must meet the relevant UK residency requirements for the duration of the course.
  • Learners must not be on a Skilled Worker visa, Sponsorship visa or Graduate visa.

Eligibility is subject to individual circumstances and will be confirmed as part of the enrolment process.

How Will I Be Assessed?

The course is internally assessed and you will complete work throughout the qualification to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.

You will need to successfully demonstrate that you have achieved the learning outcomes across all four mandatory units.

This is a knowledge-based qualification, so you do not need to complete a work placement or be working within a health and social care setting to achieve the qualification.

Your Course Journey

Week 1 – Submit Your Enquiry

Submit your enquiry form and a member of our team will give you a call to talk you through the course and answer any questions you may have. You will then be sent a Course Registration Form to complete.

Week 2 – Application and Tutor Support

Our Enrolment Team will process your application and ask you to complete an application form. Once enrolled, you will be assigned a tutor who will support you throughout your course and can be contacted by phone, text or email.

Weeks 3–16 – Complete Your Course

As you work through your course, you will receive email reminders when your units are due. Your tutor will mark your work and return it to you within 7 days, providing support and feedback throughout your learning.

Completion – Receive Your Certificate

Once you have successfully completed your course, we will apply for your certificate. Your certificate will then be posted directly to your home address, usually within 2–4 weeks.

Career and Further Progression

Completing this qualification can help you develop valuable customer service knowledge that can be applied across health and social care, community and support-based environments.

The qualification can support those interested in progressing towards careers within:

  • Health and social care.
  • Community-based services.
  • Social work and support services.

After completing the course, you may also choose to progress onto further qualifications, including the Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions, Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems, Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working in the Health Sector or Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.

The knowledge developed throughout the course can provide a strong foundation for further learning or progression towards a career within the health and social care sector.
