The Level 3 Event Assistant Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised work based programme for individuals working within the events industry. It covers event planning, customer service, budgeting, logistics, stakeholder management, health and safety, and project coordination across conferences, exhibitions, festivals, sporting events, and corporate functions.
The apprenticeship is suitable for individuals employed within event management companies, venues, hospitality organisations, local authorities, charities, and conference providers. It is open to both new recruits and existing employees looking to formalise and develop their event management skills.
The apprenticeship typically takes around 18 months to complete. Apprentices remain employed throughout, receive support from a dedicated PTS tutor, and complete off the job training during paid working hours.
Apprentices never pay for their training. For non-levy employers, the employer contribution is typically £450 plus VAT, with the government funding the remaining cost. Levy paying employers can usually use Apprenticeship Levy funds to cover the full cost of training.
The apprenticeship leads to roles including Event Coordinator, Event Executive, Event Manager, and Venue Management positions. As experience and responsibilities grow, there are opportunities for higher salaries, leadership roles, and progression into specialist event management positions.
